1890s ORIGINAL COBALT BLUE COOLIDGE DRAPE KEROSENE STAND LAMP COMPLETE 8 3/8"

Description: Here's an original cobalt blue glass antique "Coolidge Drape" kerosene oil lamp over 120 years old guaranteed. ....The base was hand pressed in a 6 part mold, while the font was pressed in a 6 part mold also...the mold seams dont line up, which indicates the 2 parts were fused together at the glass factory. ......beautiful cobalt blue!.....8 3/8"tall to the threaded brass collar (16 1/4"total with the burner and chimney).... lamp is in excellent shiny nice condition with no chips or damage of any kind. A shiny clean lamp. Original brass threaded collar is excellent with no damage. Original brass burner is emb EAGLE on the side.P&A MFG CO WATERBURY,CONN on the round wick knob....the old wick turns but needs to be lubricated or replaced....Glass chimney is the old beaded "Pearl Top"; perfect with no chips or damage. A Coolidge Drape lamp like this one is pictured on page 281 in Thuro's book on lamps. It is called Coolidge Drape because a famous picture of President Coolidge at his swearing into office as president has one of these lamps sitting on the table. It was a proud family possession of President Coolidge. Of course, this is not THAT exact lamp, but looks just like it (except this one is cobalt blue)....it was made in the 1890s .
