The map is drawn on a scale of 1:1,048,717, and details include counties, cities, towns, county seats, canals, lighthouses, proposed and completed steam railroad lines, interurban electric railways, and natural features. Interurban electric railways include lines serving the Columbia area as well as those connecting Iola and Clinton, through Anderson, Greenville, and Spartanburg. Among the light stations along the coast are the Georgetown Light, Cape Romain Light, and the Martins Industry Light Ship east of Hilton Head Island. The map was compiled and copyrighted by C.S. Hammond & Company and published by Sears Roebuck in The New World Loose Leaf Atlas, Chicago, 1919. The image area measures 28 x 45.8 cm [11" x 18"]. There's an index of cities and towns on the reverse side, with populations. Condition: The map is in excellent condition, bright and clean, with no marks, rips, or tears.
