Description: A beautiful collectible set of four U.S. postage stamps issued on May 5th, 1964 to commemorate the Battle of The Wilderness. The stamp is the fourth of five that were issued yearly during 1961 - 1965 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Civil War, a truly a sad and divisive time in U.S. history. The stamp was designed by B. Harold Christenson and depicts soldiers preparing a canon during a battle scene in the Civil War These stamps have never been used and are as fresh as the day they were sold at the post office almost 60 years ago! Suitable for framing, they would make a great gift for anyone interested in US military history and is a must have item for every Battle of the Wilderness memorabilia collector. Look in my other auctions for blocks of stamps of other historical significance including more Civil War blocks! All stamps are Mint Never Hinged. Shipping is $1.00 for first class mail.
