Description: My wife and I purchased this watercolor from the artist, Qin Jian-Xun, 26 years ago. It was purchased in 1996 at his studio in Dali, Yunnan Province, China. We had imagined displaying it in a nursery, but never had the opportunity. The piece is extremely interesting in two regards:The colors are hand made by the artist and are quite unique and vibrant.The paper/cloth backing appears to be repurposed or recycled from another painting or screening...it adds to the charm of the work and speaks to the conditions under which the artist performed.The work is in the traditional style and is roughly 12.5" x 11". The bio of the artist, Qin Jian-Xun (written in 1996) is included in the sale. He has since passed away.
