Description: Dalarnia Woodworks Handmade Reclaimed Wood Wall Art - The Raven. Edgar Allen Poe was an influential author of the dark romanticism genre that was years ahead of his time. Many of his classics include: Eldorado, Annabel Lee, The Bells, and of course The Raven. Unfortunately, this talented writers work was cut short when he suddenly and mysteriously died on October 7, 1849 in Baltimore, Maryland. (Seriously, check out the information we have on his death, it is quite interesting, and, like his writings, quite spooky). However, fortunately for us his work lived on, and his work specifically The Raven, was the inspiration behind this piece. I am Swedish roots woodworker from northern Minnesota. Carpentry runs in my family going back to my ancestors in the old country, so woodworking is not only a passion of mine, it is something that runs in my blood. As with all pieces built by the Dlarnia Woodworking Co. the wood that we use is recycled from the old houses and buildings of the northland - some that date back to the early 20th century. While there is new wood used for certain pieces - wood that gives a certain color or texture - most of the wood that makes up our pieces is repurposed, so know that your purchase helps in the recycling process. I appreciate your business and support for my passion. Thank you, Aaron Joseph Owner/Head Carpenter Art dimensions are as follows: 25.5"x48"x1.5"
