Our regular price for this poster is $189 Here we are offering a rarely seen (and brilliantly colorful) silk-screened Cuban political poster -- this one released in Havana in 2005 to salute the "Day of the Heroic Guerrilla," the annual October 8 observance in Cuba that salutes Ernesto “Che” Guevara (1928-1967), the Argentine-born Cuban revolutionary. This poster features images of CHE and the leader of the Cuban revolution FIDEL CASTRO (1926-2016). This scarce 12 by 17 inch handmade poster was distributed in 2005 by the Havana-based Organization of Solidarity of the People of Asia, Africa & Latin America (OSPAAAL) as part of a portfolio of 10 silkscreens. Over six decades, OSPAAAL promoted Cuba's solidarity with countries and revolutionary movements in the Third World. OSPAAAL closed its doors in Havana in June 2019, making many of its famed posters more difficult to find. The "Day of the Heroic Guerrilla" CHE + FIDEL poster in this listing is a mini, silk-screened 2005 version of an offset poster designed by Rafael Enríquez Vega in 1980. The colors on the silk-screened version -- the one in this listng -- are more vibrant, as one might expect, than the offset version. Overall condition of the poster is good.
