Carved from vesicular volcanic basalt rock, these statues were placed outside gates to provide fertility and protection and were regarded as the guardians of the island. Measures approx. 7" H. In good vintage condition. Very slightly flattened area on the back of the hat as was made. Please see pictures for more details.
