Description: Antique Early Stoneware Glazed Pottery Water Pitcher Brown Southern Primitive. We did quite a bit of detective work on this one, but could not find any provenance. We found one similar one online for $50, that was in much worse condition, and not nearly as decorative. It was obtained at an auction of the estate of a century farm owner. It stands 7 3/8 inches tall, and has a 5 inch opening and base. It has the “bumpiness” of salt glazed,. There is a coloration defect on the bottom, and an extra bit of clay that was not smoothed out before it was fired. There is also a fleabite about 3 inches up from the bottom. We filled it with water overnight, and there were no leaks.
