Description: In 1984 a teenager with a golden arm named Dwight Gooden took the baseball world by storm, leading the NL in K’s en route to the Rookie of the Year Award. The following season “Doc” was even better: a dominant 24-4, 1.53 season which remains one of the best in baseball history. Here now is a souvenir from that time, a super rare game-used batting glove. This piece shows plenty of pine tar wear and Gooden himself inscribed it “16 DOC.” This treasure comes still bearing the tag of Sports Warehouse, one of the OG’s of game-used equipment. This piece has been in the consigner’s private collection for 40 years! In 1985, he won the NL Cy Young Award and achieved the pitching Triple Crown, compiling a 24–4 record and a league-leading 1.53 ERA, 268 strikeouts, and 16 complete games. The following season, he helped the Mets win the 1986 World Series. OFFERS ARE WELCOMED & APPRECIATED. Your item will be packaged and shipped with great care. Handling time is 1 business day.
