LOVELY Dept 56 Alpine Village BAUERNHOF DRESCHER 56229 in box

Description: Sadly, the time has come to downsize so I will be selling some of my favorite collections. Since Christmas is coming, I am starting with the Department 56 Alpine Village series. I have collected these over many years. These particular buildings have only been displayed on one occasion. I am the original owner. Today's piece is called "Bauernhof Drescher." This is a set of two beautiful, neatly kept farm buildings. I just love these. They are so typical of the German countryside. Notice the external stairs to the upper level, if the snow gets too deep, the store of fresh hay in the hay loft on both ends of the barn, and the front of the house decorated for Christmas. When we think of an Alpine village, several images immediately present themselves. Picturesque mountains, icy cold rushing streams, pretty towns with public squares and of course, quaint, little family farms dotting the rolling hills. This farmhouse proudly displays the family crest above the door, while nearby the tidy barn's loft is filled with fresh, golden hay. Released in 2002 and retired in 2005, it comes in its original box and styrofoam packaging. I am very careful with my collection. The buildings are in like new condition except for the pulley above the door. It is present but I think it has broken off its support. Two original unused light cords are included. I used a spare light to take the photos. The box sleeve is generally in pretty good condition. There is one tear. Please see the photos. This is truly a beautiful set. The trees in the background are not included in the sale.
