ABOUT THE ARTISTFirst and foremost, thank you for taking an interest in my work. My name is Ann Mikhail and I'm a self-taught artist. I've delved into art since I was a child, exploring all my creative ideas and abilities. I discovered a decade ago that my favorite artistic hobby was painting. I've created hundreds of original pieces, all of which have been sold over the years; not including the work I actively have available. In the realm of professional artists, I have spent years trying to learn and discover my style and niche. I appreciate all art and it doesn’t require much for me to be mesmerized by another’s talents. My style has evolved over the years as I’ve fine-tuned my skills and allowed myself to explore. My customers would likely recognize me for my original contemporary modern paintings in an abstract style. I throw flair on everything I create. While I appreciate realism and those that can commit to the finest of painting styles, it doesn’t feel right to me if my painting doesn’t have a level of abstraction. Instead of a brush, I prefer a palette knife and using my hands. Instead of acrylic, I’ve grown to love the vibrancy and workability of oils. Instead of a small canvas, I’ve grown to love the impact of larger scale works of art.I believe original artwork completely changes the theme of a room. I put a lot of effort into the smallest details and finishing touches to make sure every piece I make has depth. Painting brings me a lot of joy and I find it incredibly exciting to see how a blank canvas can become my tangible imagination within a matter of hours. All my artwork has been meticulously created, appropriately cured, and finished. Oil painting requires many layers, weeks of stop and go and a lot of patience. I can only describe it as watching paint dry... literally. But in the end, I love to admire the results, the depth in color, texture, and weight. My number one goal is to fuel my passion while simultaneously serving happy customers.
