The Montgomery Ward catalogs from 1966 to 1968 only show the 8-drawer unit and it had side handles just like this one. The 1969 catalog shows this model (84 GT 4285 A). Looks like the original felt lining. This toolbox is in very good condition for its age. All of the drawers and the top section are lined, with the exception of the square drawer in the middle. The bottom drawer has the lining coming loose on the edges, which should be an easy repair. All of the drawers slide easily. Corrosion is minimal and there are areas of scratches and paint missing. The handle on the panel that secures the drawers has been replaced with a nut and bolt. This toolbox comes with 2 keys and when locked everything within is secure. The handles on the sides are secure and firm. This toolbox may be old however, in our opinion this unit has numerous years of usage remaining. Please see all photos.
