It will have enough minor defects that it is in clearly worse condition than a brand new freshly published comic, magazine, or book. Allowed defects for this grade include: a spine split of less than half an inch, minor water spotting or other residue, impacted corners, and an accumulation or spine stresses that may break color. An item could be assigned this grade due to either an accumulation of minor defects or one or two moderate defects. Description Note about "Newsstand" vs "Direct" editions: some comics printed during this time period were published for sale in both the direct market (comic stores) and at newsstand locations such as grocery stores or convenience stores. In many cases, the only difference between the two versions is the presence of either a barcode or small logo where the barcode would otherwise be. Most collectors consider both versions to be of equal value. If the only difference is the presence of the logo or the barcode, we do not distinguish between newsstand or direct editions, so it is possible that the comic you receive could have a barcode even if our listing image shows a logo, or vice versa. In cases where there is a significant difference between the newsstand and direct editions, such as one having a foil cover, different color scheme, or other clear variation, we will list the newsstand and direct editions as two separate listings and they will be clearly labeled as such, so you will be able to select which version you want. "The Man Who Would Be Spider-Man!" Script by Tom DeFalco. Pencils by Ron Lim. Inks by Scott Hanna, Al Milgrom, and Keith Williams. Cover by Ron Lim and Jim Sanders III. While stopping a robbery in progress, the wondrous wall-crawler is unmasked! And in a remarkable coincidence, Lance Bannon happens to be nearby to snap a picture! Will Peter Parker's secret identity be exposed? Apparently not, because in the next day's newspaper, the Daily Bugle misidentifies the web-slinger as a guy named Phil. What?! And to make the situation even more bizarre, Phil holds a news conference to announce his new not-for-profit Spider-Man foundation…and line of retail products! The real wall-crawler is stunned by Phil's audacity and vows to get to the bottom of this mystery! And the operative word in this case is definitely "mystery" (or perhaps Mysterio)! Second Story: "Still Living in Fear" Script by Kurt Busiek. Pencils by Kevin West. Inks by Jimmy Palmiotti. Bloodshed (last seen in Web of Spider-Man 81) is still on the run from the crime syndicate that's trying to kill him! And once again the Spectacular Spider-Man will try to protect him from the bad guys and himself! Third Story: "Just a Joe Named Guy" Script by Carl Potts. Pencils by Dan Norton. Inks by Keith Williams. The web-slinger chases the Rhino and bumps into a powerful creature named Guy. (Notes: The title of the third story is a takeoff on the classic story in Amazing Spider-Man (1st series) 38. This issue is printed on glossy paper.) 64 pages Stock image The image for this listing is a stock image provided to help you identify the item, but is not the specific item being offered, nor does it represent the grade or condition of the item you will receive. Please read the item description for any description of grade or condition. In cases where an issue exists in both a newsstand version and a direct edition, the image shown here may show a newsstand copy but you could receive a direct edition, or vice versa, unless the issue title specifically mentions it being the newsstand or direct edition.
