Pattern features oval vertical cuts on bowl, base is acid etched St. Louis France in circle as well as the CGT acid mark for Compagnie Générale Transatlantique. This pitcher was for use in the First Class dining areas, c. 1960's. The Compagnie Générale Transatlantique (CGT, often called Transat, or French Line) is a French shipping company founded in 1855 and disappeared in 1975 (merged with the Company Marine messaging, formation of the Compagnie Générale Maritime). Measures 6 3/4" high x 8" long spout to handle; holds 48 ounces and is in Excellent condition free of nick or fleabites with little wear. A fine addition to any home or collection!
