The Rico folio covers an area southwest of Telluride and north of La Plata in the San Juan mountains of southwest Colorado. In 1879 rich oxidized silver ore was discovered on Newman Hill and the town of Rico sprang into existence. In October of 1887 the largest and richest of the blanket deposits was discovered in the Enterprise Shaft at a depth of 262'. The decline in the price of silver led to a depressing effect on this in other districts where silver formed a large part of the output. We combine shipping for additional items.
