Vintage Cleveland Welding Balloon Tire Cruiser Frame: Frame is 26" Vintage CWC Balloon Tire / Ballooner / Fat Tire Steel Mens Cruiser Frame or Ladies Ballooner frame from various dates. Built in the USA from 1936s to late 1950s. Your Selection will give Color and a date estimate from serial number referencing and Seat post size. Frame is Full size adult frames and 26" refers to the Balloon Tire / Ballooner / Fat Tire size 26" x 2.125" used. Frame is Used, shows wear, can have rust, & possible small dents, May have Original Paint, Patina Finish, Fading, Paint, Decal, & Finish loss. Patina Finish shows age and is resealed. There is a lot of Primer Frames, There was a time when we were Hot & Heavy into restoring bikes, and CWC Bikes were one of our Jams, they are Cool Early Bikes with a Quality Close to Schwinn, They are custom and New part build friendly. The Frames were professionally primed a long time ago as restorations that never came to fruition now time for them to go. Primer Frame was sand blasted sprayed with Self Etching Primer (Greenish) and Sprayed with Heavy Build Primer (Grey) and needs Sanding to get the primer smooth & straight - Cream Head Frames were further along in the bodywork process and were ready for masking and body color. Primer Only Frame is Most Likely Not ready to go and may needs sanding & body work. Frame may have rust from age. Ballooner CWC Frames can accommodate 26" x 2.125" wheels & balloon tires. Rear spacing on Old frames is around 112mm to 114mm wide, accommodating most Coaster Brake, 3 speed Sturmey Archer, & Bendix 2 speed kick back hubs. These Vintage Frames were made by Cleveland Welding Company ( CWC for short) CWC made Bikes for Various Brands or Department Stores and may of been sold as / Hawthorne / Roadmaster / Hiawatha / Western Flyer / Speed / Cleveland Welding the list goes on etc...... A Lot of these Frames are Zeps & Comets. Vertical head Badge screws are 2 7/8" apart. I have dated the frames for Reference or if some ones needs it for a restoration. New Lux Low Hanger Build Kit: A Nice Grouping of parts to help you with your build. The New Build Kit comes with New Parts: Crank, 46 tooth Chainring, 24tpi Bottom Bracket, Pedals, & Chain. New Tube Fork & Headset from LuxLow: CWC Cut Fork tube Fork Comes in Chrome or Black. New Tubular Fork & Headset for use with Pre & Post War CWC Frames. The Fork is Quality Chrome Steel, has 1 1/8" tubular Fork Blades, accepts a 100mm wide front hub, takes a 7/8" or 22.22mm Diameter quill stem, and has enough clearance for Fat 26" x 2.125" Cruiser Tires. The axle center to bottom of the fork crown is approximately 14" or 356mm and the axle center to the brake pivot hole is approximately 14 1/2" or 368mm. In rare cases some old bikes may of seen too much excessive use and the head tube is stretched, making the cups a loose fit, in that event a shim may be needed for a tight fit. This is our Convenient Direct Install Fork for Vintage CWC Frames with a 5" head tube and was measured & cut to our supplied headset stack height. HandleBars, Stem, & Grips: A Cruiser Cock Pit, About 29" wide Steer-horn Cruiser Bars with a 22.2mm center, Old School BMX 4 bolt Stem for use with 22.2mm bars and to insert into 22.2mm fork tubes, & Reproduction Oval Comfort Grips. This Combination has proven it self in the field for reliability and comfort, The use of the 4 bolt stem provides strength against any slippage from horking down & heavy use.
