Description: At auction we feature this 1970, heavy amber glass ashtray, most likely made by the former Indiana Glass Company. These 7.5-inch diameter ashtrays were a fixture in all upscale bars and restaurants 50 years ago, but they're no longer made and becoming quite rare. This very thick glass astray is fine for tabletop use, but they were frequently set into pipe smoking stands. The 7.5-inch top rim tapers 1-7/8" down to 5.5 inch bottom rim for a custom fit. The bottom ring has some roughness from handling. The top rim is smooth, there are no scratches inside, and there's a funny original run in the glass bowl of the ashtray from manufacture. Thanks for looking!
