Description: ORIGINAL LESTER GEORGE HORNBY (1882-1956) 'FOREST LANDSCAPE' OIL PAINTING This is really a wonderful original. It has been quite a few years since I last acquired a Lester Hornby painting. About 15-20 years ago they would come to the market periodically but lately, I have not seen too many. I think this might be the first one I have seen in quite a few years. For those not familiar with the artist, I have included his biography below. This is really one of his most painterly paintings I have ever seen. Really a wonderful post impressionist view of a river in a forest landscape. Oil on paper with the image measuring 8 1/2 x 10 1/4 inches. Signed with the artist's initials lower right. Painting is in stunning as painted condition. To make it even better it was archival matted and framed back in 1985 by a conservator and is ready to hang. Just a great presentation of this wonderful painting. Frame measures 15 1/4 x 16 1/2 inches. FREE SHIPPING ANYWHERE IN THE UNITED STATES! If you collect Hornby's work, check my store for the other wonderful painting I also have for sale. I also have a wonderful aquatint by Hornby that I acquired with this painting as well as some of his even more rare World War 1 military etchings. A great chance to build your Lester Hornby collection.
