Description: Vintage Original Standard Oil Co. 5 gallon Metal Can W/ Lifting Handle and Lid - Great condition overall, with beautiful gray-blue patina on the metal. - Original Metal lifting handle and original metal lid included. - Embossed with the “Property of Standard Oil Company of California” on the front. - Solid metal with no holes or rot. The can weighs about 14 pounds. - Can is about 21” inches tall and about 12” inches wide. - Opening hole at the top is about 5.5” inches in diameter. - See pics of this 5 gallon can next to a plastic quart of Pennzoil motor oil. This original vintage can, along with a couple of other original cans, was found in the attic of an old service station in dry Arizona. They have been used, but did not have exposure to damp humid climates. The dry Arizona weather preserved them very well for the past almost 80 years or more.
