Description: Vintage Bambi & Thumper Nursery Working lamp made in 1970 by Dolly Toy Co. The lamp has a brown plastic wedge shaped base. The background of the base is an open book showing the Bambi story. The book is plastic but the 2 pages that show are paper. There is some mild staining on the top and bottom edges of the paper. Two porcelain figurines are in front of the book, Bambi and his friend Thumper. Both pieces are hand painted. Bambi is 4 1/4" tall by 2 3/4" long. A pretty blue butterfly is perched on his tail. Beside him Thumper looks on. Thumper measures 2" high by 1 1/2" long. The lamp portion is brass and has a push stem switch. The total height without a shade or bulb is 13". The base is 10" wide and 5 1/2" from front the back. The original non-polarized cord is white and measures 75" long. The bottom is stamped with the manufacture date and has UL Certification label. There is also a caution warning about the bulb watt maximum that should be used but unfortunately only part of the wattage # 6 shows. I used a 40 Watt appliance bulb in the photos and it worked. ***I would recommend using a low watt bulb, maybe 25 Watt. The company initials D.T.C. are embossed on the side of the book in gold. Aside from some staining on the pages, the lamp is in excellent condition with no breaks, cracks or repairs. The plastic book has age discoloration. The shade and bulb used in the photos are NOT included in the sale.
