Description: A jawbone axe made for the production of Matt Reeves' science fiction film War for the Planet of the Apes. Very cool prop. Highly detailed, very realistic. In this final film of the Planet of the Apes trilogy, Caesar (Andy Serkis) and the other apes are caught in a conflict with humans. Many weapons and tools are seen resting against walls throughout the ape's encampment in the forest during the film's opening. This would have likely been made as set dressing for the encampment, but I'm not sure if it's visible in the finished film. Really awesome piece, either way. This axe is made with a wood handle and features a large jawbone at one end. It has been custom painted and wrapped with twine in order to look like a well-used tool. Some portions of the wrappings are loose, and there is a small chip on the pick portion that has been glued. The repair is small, and not particularly noticeable unless you are looking for it. Please see photos for details. The pick section can be intentionally wiggled, but it appears to have been made this way, and doesn't appear to be at risk of coming off. The teeth in the axe are semi-loose, as well, but this also seems to be the way it was constructed, and there is little risk of them falling out. The axe is in overall very good production-used condition.Item size: 38.5" × 12.25" × 3" (97.79cm × 31.12cm × 7.62cm) Propstore COA included. Shipping insurance included in cost of shipping.
